I captured a shot of Christian monk today getting down and close with a homeless guy on the pavement. What struck me was the image had 2 levels of conversation going on.

There's what we see and what is underneath. Most of these people are homeless through no fault of their own and we mentally block them out.  I used to be guilty of this. Seen and unseen.

So, no matter what your attitudes are or your politics or any bias you have, if you pass tje same person on the way to work or you know of some homeless person, say hello, buy them a coffee when you pick yours up. Acknowledge them as present and in the moment. You will be surprised that you will get a smile. Compassion and Communication.....3 words which will get you a long way.
